Presence, (ensō # 89)

This work consists of a group of loudspeakers arranged in the exhibition space. Each speaker reproduces a sound in a different key, creating a sonic harmony. The duration of the sound is randomly controlled by software, and can vary from 5 seconds to 5 minutes. Each sound reproduction will start out barely audible, close to silence, and then intensify to produce a sonic presence in space. In the same way, each sound will gradually fade to silence. In this way, the viewer will encounter either the creation or disappearance of something in the exhibition space.
